Subject: Embrace Novelty: Discovering Powerful First Experiences at Any Age
Hey Friends,
Welcome Back π
Today, for the 100th journal prompt in the series! π Β I want to share with you an idea that has been swirling around in my mind ever since I listened to a TED Talk by Kenneth Chabert. He's a storyteller, a nonprofit founder, and a firm believer in the power of first experiences. His words resonated with me deeply, and I hope they will with you too.
Chabert's talk was centered around a simple yet profound concept: to truly savor life, we must pursue "powerful first experiences." These are the moments that break the monotony of our daily routines and introduce novelty into our lives in small but significant ways.
This idea got me thinking about how often we get caught up in our routines. We wake up, go to work, come home, and repeat. But where's the novelty in that? Where are the powerful first experiences that make us feel alive and help us savor life?
So, here's my question for you today:
What can you do to introduce a powerful first experience into your life this week? Or what is something you have always wanted to try that you keep putting off because you don't have the time?
It doesn't have to be something grand or extravagant. It could be as simple as taking a new route to work, trying a new cuisine, or starting a conversation with a stranger. Remember, it's the small but significant changes that can make a big difference.
This blog in itself was a way for me to break the monotony of my daily routines and pursue something I had always thought about doing. It took me getting out of my comfort zone and trying something new but I am so glad I did because I truly love writing and sharing these ideas with you all.
As you reflect on this question, I encourage you to not just think about it, but act on it. Break the monotony. Seek out novelty. Savor life. You won't regret it!
Until next time, keep seeking those powerful first experiences.
With all my heart
Your Friend, Austin β€β
