Today, I want to share with you some insights I gained from a recent episode of the podcast "On Purpose with Jay Shetty." The episode was titled "7 Signs You’re a People Pleaser & 7 Methods to Break This Habit," and it was a real eye-opener.

Jay Shetty, a former monk turned motivational speaker and life coach, looks into the characteristics of a people pleaser and provided methods to break this habit. He discussed the deep-rooted struggles of saying no, over-apologizing, and failing to communicate our own needs. He also explored the pain of feeling rejected and left out, the challenges of being overly agreeable and avoiding conflict, and the lengths we go to in order to avoid being disliked or hated.

This got me thinking about how often we compromise our own needs and desires to please others. How often we say yes when we really want to say no. How often we apologize for things we have no control over. How often we suppress our needs and thoughts to avoid conflict. And how often we change ourselves just to be liked or accepted by others.

So, here's my question for you today:


How often do you find yourself pleasing others at the expense of your own needs and desires? And what steps can you take to break this habit?


Reflect on this question and think about the ways you can reclaim your personal power. Remember, it's okay to say no. It's okay to communicate your needs. It's okay to voice out your opinions. And it's okay to be you.
