📝📜Daily Journal Prompt #26
Subject: Stoicism Is Key 🔑
Friends,
Welcome back! 👋
Today's Journal prompt is inspired by a conversation between Joe Rogan and Ryan Holiday. In this episode, they discuss Ryan's latest book, "Lives of the Stoics," and how the philosophy of stoicism can be applied to modern-day life. For those of you who aren't familiar with Ryan Holiday or his work I would highly recommend you check him out. I will link the podcast episode, his new book and a link to his youtube channel below.👇
One of the key takeaways from their conversation is the importance of living in the present moment and being mindful of our thoughts and actions. As Ryan puts it, "The only thing we really have control over is our own minds and our own attitudes."
So, for today's journal prompt, I invite you to take a moment to reflect on your own thoughts and attitudes. Are they serving you well, or are they holding you back? What can you do to cultivate a more positive and productive mindset?
Here are a few snippets from the podcast to get you started:
"The stoics believed that the way to live a good life was to focus on what you can control and accept what you can't." - Ryan Holiday
"We get so caught up in what's going on around us that we forget to pay attention to our own minds." - Ryan Holiday
"The world is always going to throw things at you that are out of your control, but you can control how you respond to them." - Joe Rogan
Stoicisim has always fascinated me and I believe so many of these stoic principles can help us all live more fulfilling lives the more we practice and reflect on our own thoughts. I hope this journal prompt can help get you thinking more like a stoic. Also please check out Ryan and his amazing work, he's a big inspiration for me starting this blog.
