📝📜 Daily Journal Prompt #33

Subject: "The Intentional Father"

The International Father
The Intentional Father By Jon Tyson

As a father myself, I'm always on the lookout for resources that can help me become the best parent I can be. That's when I stumbled upon Jon Tyson's enlightening book, "The Intentional Father." This book was a guiding light, offering practical advice and insights on how to be a more intentional and present father. Being a father is a big reason I started this blog in the first place. I wanted a place to grow as a man a husband and a father and share my experiences with other like minded people. With that being said, today's journal prompt is inspired by Tyson's book. You can find his book on amazon with the link above 👆

One of the quotes from "The Intentional Father" that resonated with me the most was, "Being a father is not about perfection but about presence, and it's our daily choices that determine the depth of our relationships with our children." - Jon Tyson

This quote inspired me to think about the small, everyday actions that can strengthen the bond I share with my children. With that in mind, here's today's journal prompt based on Jon Tyson's invaluable advice:

Reflect on the daily choices you make as a father or a mother and identify specific actions you can take to be more present and intentional in your relationship with your children.

To help you explore this question in greater depth, consider the following sub-questions:

  1. What are some examples of the daily choices you make as a parent that positively impact your relationship with your children?
  2. Are there any areas where you feel you could be more present or intentional in your parenting?
  3. What specific actions can you commit to taking in order to be more engaged and connected with your children on a daily basis?
  4. How do you envision your relationship with your children evolving as a result of making these intentional choices?

As you reflect on these questions, approach this journaling exercise with self-compassion and honesty. Parenting is a journey filled with ups and downs, and the purpose of this prompt is to encourage growth and improvement, not to dwell on past shortcomings.

I truly believe journaling about our choices and actions as parents can be a powerful way to cultivate stronger relationships with our children. This journal prompt aims to help you become more present and intentional in your parenting journey. So, grab your journal, open your heart and mind, and get to it!

Thank you for the continued support ❤

Keep reflecting and growing!

Until next time,

Your friend, Austin ✌👋
