Subject: Embrace Your Inner Child:

Hey there, 👋

Today's journal prompt is all about embracing your inner child. But first, let me tell you a story to help shape today's discussion.

When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do was play with blocks at my grandma's house. She had this big box filled with all kinds of wooden blocks in different shapes and colors. I would spend hours building towers, bridges, and castles. But as I got older, I stopped playing with the blocks. Not consciously of course, but over time I started focusing on school, sports, and other activities wity my friends. It wasn't until much later in life that I realized how much I missed playing with those blocks. Maybe not the blocks directly but what it meant to be able to spend endless hours on an activity that I enjoyed without a care in the world. We get so caught up in our daily responsibilities that we often forget to make the time for lifes simple pleasures.

Now here's the question: "What is something you loved to do as a child that you've stopped doing as an adult?"

Maybe it's playing an instrument, dancing, or painting. Maybe it's something as simple as blowing bubbles or jumping rope. Whatever it is, think about why you stopped doing it. Did you lose interest? Did you feel like you didn't have time? Did someone tell you it was silly or immature?

Now, here's the real challenge: I want you to do that thing again. Embrace your inner child and have some fun. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks, how much time it will take or what you might be missing out on by making time for this activity. Just do it. If you have kids of your own like I do, include them in the activity.

And when you're done, write about it in your journal. How did it feel to reconnect with your inner child? Did it bring back any memories or emotions? Do you want to do it again?

Remember, the purpose of this journal prompt is to encourage you to let go of your inhibitions and embrace the things that make you happy. Don't be afraid to be silly or playful. It's good for your soul.

Life moves fast, and it is memories like these ones that can really bring that idea to the forefront of out attention. If you only take one thing from todays journal prompt, let it be that, while life does call for us to be serious at times, it is never seeious enough to stop doing the things that we love most and make us truly happy.
