Subject: Look After Your Village

Hey Friends,

Welcome back πŸ‘‹

As i'm sure you all know, the world we live in today is a buzz of conversations about physical fitness, but in my opinion not enough of us talk about mental fitness. I recently watched a compelling TED Talk by Gus Worland, a staunch advocate for mental health and suicide prevention. His powerful speech resonated deeply with me, making me reflect on the importance of nurturing our mental wellbeing just as much as our physical health and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable. Because you never know how powerful of an impact your vulnerability can have on someone.

Worland shared a personal story of grief that sparked his passion for advocating suicide prevention, underlining the significance of looking after our own mental health, and by extension, our 'village.' According to him, it can be as simple as sending a text message to someone you cannot imagine living without. This act of reaching out, of letting someone know that you're there for them, can be a lifeline in times of distress.

In his efforts to help people develop the resilience and emotional muscle needed to prevent suicide and build mental fitness, Gus Worland founded the Gotcha4Life Foundation12. This initiative is a testament to the fact that every one of us has the power to impact the lives around us positively.

Inspired by Gus Worland's powerful message, I have a question for today's journal prompt:

Think about your 'village' - your close circle of friends and family. If you had to send a text right now to someone you can't imagine living without, who would it be and what would you say? Also, reflect on your own mental fitness. What actions are you taking to enhance it, and how can you help others in your 'village' to do the same?

Remember, life is not just about being physically fit; mental health is equally crucial. Let's take a step today towards building a more mentally fit community, one message at a time. Check out the Gotcha4Life Foundation here (www.gotcha4life.org) to learn more about their mission and how you can get involved.

I am not involved or endorsed by the gotcha4life foundation in any way, I am just inspired by the movement and I hope with more involvement in communities like this one we can help end the suffering of so many people.

Stay tuned for more inspiring journal prompts. Keep thinking, keep writing, and most importantly, keep looking after your 'village.'

Until our next rendezvous.

With all my heart

Your Friend, Austin ❀✌
