πŸ“πŸ“œ Daily Journal Prompt 87

Hey Friends,

Welcome Back πŸ‘‹

Today, we're venturing into the realm of personal discipline and self-care, guided by the wisdom of best-selling author Ryan Holiday. In a fascinating conversation with Jay Shetty on his podcast "On Purpose," Holiday shares his unique insights on discipline, time management, and personal well-being. The podcast episode shines a spotlight on the different forms of discipline across cultures, the preciousness of our time, and the people we choose to spend it with, and the practice of self-kindness in our decision-making process.

If you have been a subscriber for awhile now you will know what a huge fan I am of Ryan Holiday's work. His books have provided so much guidance in my life and this discussion was no different. Β Holiday's perspective is a powerful reminder that discipline isn't merely a tool for productivity but a crucial element in cultivating a life of well-being. He emphasizes the importance of being mindful of how we spend our time and with whom, as these decisions significantly influence our lives. More importantly, Holiday urges us to be kind to ourselves, making decisions that prioritize our well-being over societal pressures or expectations.

This brings us to today's journal prompt. Inspired by Holiday's philosophy.

consider your own understanding of discipline. How does it shape your daily routine and long-term goals? Reflect on the value of your time - are you spending it in ways that nourish you, with people who support and uplift you? Are your decisions primarily influenced by external pressures, or do they align with your personal well-being? Finally, in what ways can you be more kind to yourself in your decision-making process?

This prompt is a little more long winded than I usually prefer. Each of the questions build on one another in such a way that allows you to get a broader understanding of yourself and how to apply the conversations from this podcast episode.

As always, I encourage you to delve deep into these questions, and remember, it's through these introspective moments that we grow. Your thoughts and reflections are always welcome in the comments below or on your social media platforms.

Until tomorrows prompt, continue to value your time, practice self-kindness, and embrace the discipline that leads to a fulfilling life.

Until our next rendezvous.

With all my heart

Your Friend, Austin ❀✌
