Subject: Understanding Ourselves: A Journal Prompt Inspired by Sadhguru on The Joe Rogan Experience

Hey Friends,

Welcome Back πŸ‘‹

Today I listened to an interesting Joe Rogan podcast episode at the gym and wanted to share some reflections I have with you. The guest on the episode is Sadhguru.

JRE- SADHGURU Ep 1791 Spotify

Sadhguru is a widely respected yogi, mystic, and visionary from India. He's recognized as one of India's 50 most influential people and has received three presidential awards for his transformative work in spiritual leadership. His teachings, which cover a wide range of topics from personal growth to the nature of the universe, aim to elevate human consciousness and help individuals lead more fulfilling lives.

This episode covers a ton of deep stuff, from our connection to the Earth's soil, the real practice and history of Yoga, and even some chat about aliens. But what really got me thinking was Sadhguru's talk about the differences between our state of mind, state of being, and perception.

Sadhguru shared some cool insights about how our state of mind and being aren't the same thing, and how our perception is often stuck in the physical. It got me thinking about how life isn't just about what's going on in our heads, but also about our core state of being and how we see the world. This isn't some grand, life-altering idea, but a subtle insight that can really change how we approach life.

So, today's journal prompt is all about that. I have broken the question into three parts to help better guide your thinking. You can use any or all of them, whatever you feel is most fitting.

  1. State of Mind: "Reflect on your state of mind over the past week. How has it influenced your decisions and interactions? What can you do to improve your state of mind moving forward?"
  2. State of Being: "Think about your overall state of being. How does it align with your values and goals? Are there any changes you'd like to make to better align your state of being with your aspirations?"
  3. Perception: "Consider your perception of the world around you. How has it shaped your experiences and relationships? What steps can you take to broaden your perception and understand others better?"

This prompt is all about understanding your own mind. It's about realizing how your thoughts, your inner state, and your view of the world interact. It's a chance for personal growth, self-awareness, and the courage to dig into your own consciousness.

As you think about this prompt, keep Sadhguru's words in mind: "Our perception of life is beyond intellect, but also, our perception is limited to the physical". This isn't about changing who you are, but about understanding your own mind better and seeing beyond just the physical world.

I encourage you to take your time with this. Write honestly and don't be afraid to explore. Remember, this is all about your personal journey of growth and understanding. There's no right or wrong answer, just new insights to uncover.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts and reflections. Until next time, keep exploring, keep growing, and keep pushing the boundaries of your own consciousness.

With all my heart
